Always practice ethical harvesting. If you ever read "Cookie Monster and the Cookie Tree " , you'll remember how the Tree felt when the cookie monster tried to grab at the cookies, or take one too many!

There is much evidence leading us to believe that all of Nature has a voice . With  silence and attention, we can tune in to the plant kingdom and develop our relationships through practice, as our art & meditation.

It is possible to  increase our intuitive abilities and  tune into the energy and medicine of  plants. While traveling in Colombia, I was blessed to learn from the Kogi  indiginous people , of the Sierra Nevada coastal mountain range.  I witnessed how they connected with the plant kingdom around them while  taking in a sacred herb, they would honor its wisdom and  be given the vision of the plant. It was if the plant had lent them its "eyes" to see. They would  then be able to know what was food or medicine.

and soon , you'll be feeling  presence, of a plant or tree,  before even seeing it!

Usnea has a very special relationship with the trees. its been growing there for sometimes hundreds of years. the best time to harvest this medicinal lichen , is after a storm, where branches are broken or it has blown off the tree, and is shared with us humans as a gift !

So Remember, just  like in Cookie Monster & the Cookie tree, do not just grab at the Usnea and pull, wait until the tree drops some for you ! :)
